INFORMATION

Na Špičáku Cave is located between the villages of Písečná and Supíkovice, under the Velký Špičák hill. This more than four hundred meter long labyrinth of passages and cracks is created in Devonian marbles, whose age is estimated at 350 to 380 million years. The importance of the cave lies not only in its geological value, but also in its rich history. As early as the mid-15th century, the cave was known and served as a shelter, as evidenced by numerous inscriptions on the walls, including the oldest from 1519.

When exploring the cave, visitors can look forward to the heart-shaped profile of the corridors, which is the result of the action of the glacier's meltwater. The 230-meter-long tour route is completely barrier-free, which allows access even for people with limited mobility. The cave was first opened to the public in 1884–1885 and has since undergone several modifications, including electric lighting and modernized walkways.
