The reservoir is surrounded by strict sanitary zones to ensure high water quality, and any recreation or fishing is prohibited.

The technical parameters of the reservoir are impressive: the maximum height of the dam is 63.5 meters, the length of the dam at the crown is 342 meters, and the total volume of the reservoir reaches 56.366 million m³. The reconstruction, which took place between 2015 and 2018, ensured the modernization of the reservoir and its readiness to face up to a ten-thousand-year flood wave.
