The Mionší Primeval Forest is one of the most valuable natural sites in the Beskydy Mountains. The Mionší Primeval Forest is a national nature reserve that covers an area of 169.7 hectares and protects a unique complex of coniferous and deciduous forests. It is located in the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area, at an altitude of 720 to 950 meters, with the highest point on thepeakÚplaz. The primeval forest is mainly made up of fir and beech trees, with an admixture of maple, spruce and other woody species. This biotope is home to many animals and plants, including rare species of mushrooms and birds, such as the black stork and the capercaillie. In 2017, the primeval forest was declared a non-intervention area, which contributes to its conservation.
For nature and hiking lovers, a visit to the Mionší Primeval Forest is an unforgettable experience. The trail, which is only accessible with a guide from June 1 to September 15, allows visitors to explore the edges of the primeval forest and learn about its ecosystem and history. The route is 7 kilometers long and is of medium difficulty, making it suitable for families with children and individual tourists.
Nearby is the tourist chata Severka in Dolní Lomná, where you can enjoy local specialties. Of course, our guests can use the restaurant and brewery directly at the hotel Pod Kyčmolem, where we offer a wide range of regional dishes and drinks.
From the Pod Kyčmolem hotel, you can easily reach the Mionší Primeval Forest by car in approximately 5 minutes. Parking is available at the Matyščina louka parking lot in Dolní Lomná. Tours are available on weekends at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Admission is 100 CZK per person. We recommend comfortable hiking shoes and suitable clothing for the terrain.
