Lysá hora is the dominant feature of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains and offers not only beautiful views, but also a rich history and interesting geology. The peak of the mountain is nicknamed Gigula and four peaks extend from it: Malchor, Zimný, Kobylanka and Lukšinec. At the top there is a meteorological station, a telecommunications tower and two tourist huts that provide refreshments and rest.

Nature reserves and monuments in the area, such as Ondrášovy díry, Mazák and Mazácký Grúnik, protect the local fauna and flora, including original mountain spruce and fir-beech forests. The Ostravice River bed and the Satiny Waterfalls add to the beauty of this area, which is rich in geomorphological formations and ruins.

Hikers can choose from many well-marked trails that lead to the summit from various directions, including Ostravice, Malenovice, Frýdlant, Krásná, Visalají and Papežov. The most popular is the red tourist trail leading from Ostravice, which offers a challenging climb with an elevation gain of 900 meters over 7.5 kilometers.

For cyclists, access to the summit is possible via the asphalt road from Papežov, which is also suitable for road bikes. In winter, cross-country skiers will come to their senses here, who will appreciate the snow conditions that prevail here from October to May.

Parkingis possible in designated parking lots in Ostravice or Papežov. Entrance to Lysá hora is free and available all year round, but we recommend monitoring the current weather forecast. Bring sturdy shoes, sportswear, plenty of fluids and snacks.
