Frýdek-Místek, a statutory town with a rich history, is an exceptional place for discovering the cultural and natural beauties of the Beskydy Mountains. Originally two separate towns, Frýdek and Místek, were united during World War II and today form one of the most important towns in the region. The dominant feature of the town is the Frýdek Castle from the 14th century, which originally served as a fortress on the border of Moravia and Silesia. The castle is surrounded by a natural landscape park with Baroque sculptures, where there is also the The Beskydy Museum with exhibitions focused on regional nature and history.
