Information
The St. Nicholas Church was founded in 1576 by local Protestants and is one of the oldest buildings in the Nýdek area. Over the centuries, it has undergone several reconstructions, which, however, respected its original wooden character. The church is now dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of the church, and serves the Catholic community. The church is built as an oriented timber-framed building on a stone plinth with a characteristic gable roof covered with wooden shingles. The interior of the church will impress visitors with a beautiful wooden porch supported by four pillars, which is decorated with flat cones. The bell from 1581, hanging in the tower, is a testament to the rich history of this monument.
