It is located in the picturesque Beskydy region, which is known for its beautiful mountain scenery and rich history. This unique monument, the only one of its kind in the region, is an ideal destination for our hotel guests who are looking for cultural experiences combined with natural charm. Information

Fryštát Castle in Karviná-Fryštát is a historically significant residential estate that served as the residence of the Silesian aristocracy from the Gaschin, Taaf and Larisch-Mönnich families. This Empire style castle, surrounded by the beautiful Božena Němcová Park, is the only preserved building of its kind in the Czech Republic and is protected as a cultural monument. The interiors of the castle are richly decorated, with illusory classicist decoration, and offer visitors a tour of several circuits representing aristocratic life from the 16th to the 20th century.

The castle is part of a medieval complex that includes the courtyard, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and historic stables. The tour also includes Lottyhaus, which is connected to the castle by a glass corridor and offers other historical exhibitions and a branch of the National Gallery Prague.

  • Transportation: From our hotel Pod Kyčmolem, the castle can be reached by car in approximately an hour. For those who prefer public transport, there are bus and train connections to Karviná, from where the castle is easily accessible.
  • Parking: Parking is available near the castle.
  • Opening hours: The castle is open from April to October, Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–17:00. Out of season it is open only on weekends at 11:00 and 13:00.
  • Admission: Adults 100 CZK, reduced admission for seniors and children. Family admission available.
  • Recommendation: We recommend comfortable shoes and booking the tour in advance, especially during the summer season.
