The Žermanice Dam was built in 1951–1958 on the Lučina River with the aim of supplying Ostrava's businesses with water. Today, this reservoir, with an area of 250 hectares, is a popular place for recreation and relaxation. The water in the dam is clean and suitable for swimming all year round, making it an ideal destination for summer fun. On the banks of the dam there are many private cottages, a campsite and several restaurants, which offer pleasant facilities for visitors.
