The Olešná Dam was built between 1960 and 1964 on the Olešná stream and serves primarily for flood protection and recreation. With an average flow of 0.54 m³/s, it provides a stable water level and ideal conditions for various water activities. The beaches around the reservoir are grassy and equipped with sand, which ensures a pleasant entry into the water. There is also a naturist beach for those looking for more privacy.
On the northwestern shore there is a modern aquapark with attractions for all ages. Thanks to its convenient location, the dam offers a beautiful view of the Palkovické hůrky and in good weather you can see the peaks of the Beskydy Mountains.
The Olešná dam is an ideal place for various water activities. You can go swimming, windsurfing or yachting. A popular 4.5 km long trail runs around the reservoir, which is ideal for cycling and skating. This flat circuit will be enjoyed by both families with children and less fit athletes.
If you are looking for other activities, the nearby forest trail Vyhlídka in Frýdlant nad Ostravicí offers a pleasant walk with educational boards and play elements for children. Lesopark Dobratice, 17 km away, is another great place for family trips, where you can use the outdoor gym, slides and various climbing frames.

Swimming in the dam is free. There is a fee for entering the aquapark, we recommend checking the current prices and opening hours in advance.
